You can have a private hot tub without leaving county Dublin: there are pods in Malahide, cabins in the Dublin Mountains and a townhouse in Ballsbridge. For glamping and countryside, the good options are a short drive out in Meath, Kildare, Wicklow and Kilkenny. These are the ones we’ve checked, with rough drive times from the city centre.
In county Dublin
Hidden Acres Glamping Pods, Malahide (about 30 minutes). Pods with their own hot tub, ten minutes from the airport. The closest private hot tub to the city we know of.
Cabins at Happy Land Farm, Saggart (about 30 minutes). Cabins in the woods in the Dublin Mountains with a hot tub and sauna on the farm.
Fashionable Townhouse in D4, Ballsbridge. A three-bedroom house near the Aviva with a hot tub in the garden, if you want the city and a tub.
Within an hour and a half
Blackditch Hideaway Cabin, Co. Kildare (about 1 hour). A cabin near Nurney with a private hot tub and outdoor fireplace.
Rock Farm Slane, Co. Meath (about 1 hour). Yurts, shepherd’s huts and bell tents on an organic farm by Slane Castle, with a wood-fired hot tub in the trees. The tub is shared across the site. Dogs welcome.
The Old Mill Slane, Co. Meath (about 1 hour). A shepherd’s hut and safari tents by the Boyne. The six-person hot tub is shared, but you book it in slots, so you have it to yourselves.
West Wicklow Glamping, Co. Wicklow (about 1 hour 15 minutes). Units in Baltinglass with a private hot tub, at the foot of the Wicklow hills.
Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny (about 1 hour 30 minutes). The closest hotel to Dublin we’ve confirmed with a private hot tub on a suite’s balcony. Only some balcony suites have one, so ask for a Hot Tub Balcony Suite.
If you want the tub to yourselves
Hidden Acres, Blackditch, West Wicklow Glamping, the D4 townhouse and Newpark’s hot tub suites give you a tub of your own; Rock Farm and The Old Mill share theirs. For more private options, go a little further: Kilronan Castle in Roscommon has a jacuzzi in its Castle Tower Suite, and the cabins and pods in our romantic hot tub breaks all have a tub of their own.
