Our method
How we check every tub
A listing goes live only when we can point to a page that shows its tub. Here's what we check and how often.
What we check
For every stay we answer four questions:
- Is there a hot tub or jacuzzi? We need a source that shows it: the hotel’s or owner’s own page, a booking listing that names it, or the owner telling us directly.
- Who uses it? Private means it’s in your room or on your own balcony, deck or garden, and no other guests use it. Shared means a spa, leisure centre or shared garden.
- Which room has it? Many hotels have a tub in only one or two suites. We name the room to book, and note any supplement.
- What kind is it? A jacuzzi bath indoors, an outdoor hot tub, or a wood-fired tub.
What we leave out
We don’t list a hotel under “jacuzzi in the room” because its leisure centre has a jacuzzi. Listicles and booking-site filters often do this; it’s the main thing we set out to fix. When a source is vague, we label the tub as shared until we can confirm otherwise, and say so on the listing.
Dates and changes
Every listing shows the date we last checked it and links to its source. We re-check listings every three months. Rooms get refurbished and tubs get removed, so if you find something has changed, please tell us.
Photos
We only use photos with the owner’s permission. Where we don’t have one yet, we show a drawing of the tub type instead, never a stock or AI-generated photo pretending to be the real thing.
Money
Some links to booking sites earn us a small commission. Owners can list for free. Neither changes whether a stay is listed, how it’s labelled, or the order it appears in.
