How to choose

Shared isn’t a bad thing, it’s just different. A leisure-centre hot tub comes with a pool, sauna and steam room, costs nothing extra at most hotels, and suits families. Expect other guests, set opening hours and, often, no children in the evening.

Check the hours and age rules before you book. Hotel leisure centres often close around 9pm to 10pm and many keep the hot tub adults-only or limit children to set times. Spa thermal suites can also carry a separate charge.

If you want the tub to yourselves, look for the private label. Those hotels sell a specific room with a jacuzzi bath or a terrace hot tub, and we name the room.
