How to choose

Pick the setting before the stay. A hotel jacuzzi suite means dinner, breakfast and nothing to organise. A cabin or cottage means quiet, a fire and your own kitchen. A glamping pod is the cheapest way to a tub of your own, and often the most memorable.

Check the tub is yours, not the site’s. Plenty of “romantic” glamping shares one tub across every pod, booked in slots. Everything here is stamped private, and where only some rooms have a tub we name them.

Look for adults-only. A few cabins and glamping sites take adults only, which keeps evenings quiet. We tag them.

Wood-fired or electric? A wood-fired tub takes two to three hours to heat and is half the fun. An electric tub is hot the moment you arrive. The stay page says which, where the owner tells us.

Book midweek if you can. Two-night minimums are common at weekends, and a single night often costs extra.
